| Heavy Duty Mechanical Technician Interested in making a difference in the environment? Want to improve the quality of the air we breathe? Here’s your chance… Envirotest Canada, contractor for the AirCare program, is currently recruiting: Heavy Duty Mechanical Technician Position responsibilities include maintaining and fabricating mechanical systems to standards directed by department management. Applicants require strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, supplemented with formal training in a mechanical discipline and related work experience. The hourly rate for this union position is $20.28 per hour (after probation), and we offer an attractive benefits package. Principal Accountabilities include : · Service dynamometers and mechanical vehicle test equipment · Perform facility maintenance and repairs · Perform minor welding · Fabricate mechanical products · Deliver and retrieve gas cylinders · Responsible for care of assigned company vehicle and equipment · Perform servicing of Envirotest Canada mechanical equipment · Source supplies and equipment · Perform minor vehicle repairs · Other related tasks as assigned by department or senior management Qualifications · Grade 12, supplemented by certified training (minimum of 6 months duration) from a recognized mechanical training institute · A minimum of one year of relevant work experience or equivalent experience · Valid drivers’ license and good driving record · Must be physically fit and able to work with/lift heavy equipment, withstand acceptable levels of noise, dust, exhaust fume, and other environmental conditions consistent with this type of position.
