| Executive Assistant Reporting to a senior director at this large non-profit organization, you will be providing confidential secretarial and administrative support services in a fast-paced, ever-changing dynamic environment. On behalf of the director, you will be liaising with executive team members, managers, government and union officials, and support staff. The director that you will be supporting is responsible for strategic planning, policy matters, employee and labour relations, collective bargaining and all human resources functions. If you prefer the status quo and daily work routines, then this is definitely not a good career choice for you! In this role, you must be able to adapt and change on a dime to shifting priorities and urgent requests. Great downtown location along the Skytrain route. Requirements To keep up with this busy executive, you will need a keyboarding speed of at least 55 wpm and must be able to demonstrate advanced Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills. Your soft skills will include a collaborative approach and the ability to relate positively and professionally with people at all levels both internally and externally. To take on this challenging role, at least 5 years of administrative or executive assistant experience is required. You must be able to exercise discretion, compose correspondence, maintain records and filing systems, manage schedules, arrange travel and screen calls for the director. You will be typing confidential correspondence, reports, bargaining and collective agreement materials. You will also participate in interview panels, arrange for temporary help, and hire, train, supervise and review the performance of casual staff. Additional duties include preparing meeting notices, agendas and supporting materials, attending meetings, taking minutes, and distributing information to participants. As required, you will act for and support executive assistant and secretarial staff working on behalf of the executive director and board of directors. Depending on qualifications, the salary will be between approximately $41,000 to $47,000, with a scheduled increase of more than $1,000 a year to be effective in April 2008.
