| Corporate Internal Controls Compliance Manager. Alliance Recruitment Brokers is currently assisting their widely recognized client located in Downtown Vancouver with their search for a Corporate Internal Controls Compliance Manager. The successful incumbent will report to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller and Director Internal Audit and will have a CA, CGA, CIA, CMA designation with a minimum of 5 years experience in a multi-jurisdictional company. This individual must have excellent knowledge of Canadian GAAP and familiarity with an internal control framework (COSO) and have experience in risk management processes. Knowledge of regulatory requirements of a Canadian public company and legislation Bill 198 is a strong asset. Responsibilities: • Coordinate with Director, Internal Audit to align activities of both groups as it relates to testing, oversight and monitoring of internal controls. • Educate and train all level of management of key elements of the compliance program. • Coordinate location scoping, risk assessment, and controls selection globally, and benchmark results to enhance efficiencies and standardization. • Maintain documentation of in-scope business processes related to internal controls over financial reporting and ensure documentation reflects current processes and controls. • Provide guidance to Business Process Owners on how to comply with Compliance Program and knowledge of process, controls, and self assessment training. • Coordinate walkthroughs and independent testing to monitor management’s assessment of design and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. • Evaluate deficiencies of internal controls and processes on an on-going basis. • Report to senior management on results of testing, identified gaps and status of remediation. The Corporate Internal Controls Manager will be expected to have very strong verbal and written communication skills. Very strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to interface with the various levels of employees above and beneath them. This individual will be a leader and will be able to train and be comfortable leading discussions and providing technical guidance to all applicable departments. This individual will be open and available to some international travel.
