| Accountant An international mining organization with globe business offices requires an Accountant for its corporate office located in Vancouver, BC. This Accountant role has the duration of a two month contract with a possible extension after that. Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will be responsible for the general ledger of the Company and its Subsidiaries. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Receive and review invoices for approvals and recording into the accounting system • Pay invoices and record transactions • Ensure invoices have been approved for payment • Request transfers between accounts as required and liaise with bank on all banking transactions • Maintain cash-flow schedule and ensure Management is aware of cash balances • Prepare bank reconciliations • Review trial balances and record appropriate journal • Review inter-company accounts • Prepare account reconciliations • Prepare financial information as needed or requested analytical purposes • Prepare month-end and year-end journals/accruals • Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial statements and recording of the necessary consolidation entries • Liaise with external auditors at year-end and quarter-end • Assist in other assignments as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum 3rd year CGA or CMA student • 3 years experience in the mining industry • Consolidated Financial Statements Experience a must • Strong computer skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet programs • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work as part of a team Apply for this job now by sending your resume to Alishia Rajabali quoting “Accountant - Mining” in the subject line or contact our branch office for additional information.
