| Green Building Documentation Coordinator About the position We are looking for a dynamic individual with a minimum of 2 years experience in building technology and/or the energy efficiency sector to assist us in the delivery of documentation services. We are looking for someone who is a flexible, team-oriented multi-tasker with an appetite for a fast-paced, project-oriented environment. You will have strong technical skills, and have an aptitude for quantitative analysis, project coordination. You must be extremely well-organized and demonstrate meticulousness in the tracking down and compilation of information. Working for the Light House Sustainable Building Centre requires that you share our passion for green building and sustainable living. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager responsible for our Technical Services, you will assist in the documentation of green building projects, support the green building and energy services teams with technical analysis and research and assist with strategic development, including project development. Compensation package is negotiable and commensurate with experience but is anticipated in the range of $45,000 - $50,000. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) starting Monday 1st February 2010. Duties and responsibilities: Provide documentation services using the commonly used rating systems (LEED, REAP, Green Globes, etc). Provide green building solutions through research and technical analysis for a wide range of new and existing projects. Clients include building owners and managers, builders, developers, consultants and government officials at all levels. Contribute to Light House projects through the completion and/or review of energy assessments using RETScreen as well as other technical analysis of a wide range of building types. Training will be provided as necessary From time to time, you may be asked to assist with the delivery of green building education and training programs for businesses, designers, builders, developers and municipal officials. Qualifications: A bachelor degree or diploma in building science, building technology, construction, energy efficiency or equivalent related experience. Familiarity with green building design, structures and construction with ability to interpret blueprints and specifications. A minimum of two years of applicable practical work experience. Excellent verbal communications, presentation and interpersonal skills An aptitude for (and interest in) the technical aspects of green buildings is essential. We are looking for the right person and are open to energy, design and general green building professionals. LEED ap designation a strong asset. Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 based on experience. About Light House Light House Sustainable Building Centre is an enterprising non-profit society which provides British Columbians with an information point of service where the public and industry professionals can obtain information on green building practices, policies, and projects as well as green building professionals. We offer education, training and outreach to industry and the public that will foster a deeper awareness of and commitment to sustainable building practices. We also help to advance public sector programs and initiatives through research, development and implementation of tools and resources applicable to and optimized for the British Columbian construction and real estate industries. Through a combination of funded programs and consulting services we work to catalyze the sustainable building sector in British Columbia.
