The British Columbia College of Teachers is the professional regulatory body for educators in BC.

There is currently an opening in Professional Education & Communications for an Assistant to the Director.

In this role you will provide administrative support to the Director of Professional Education & Communications as well as to the Council and its committees related to the work of the department. You will be responsible for organizing and taking minutes at meetings, maintaining files, maintaining the College’s bylaws and policies, making travel arrangements, as well as conducting research, compiling data and writing reports. This challenging role also offers the opportunity for interaction with College members, school districts and post-secondary institutions.

To succeed, you must be a strong team player who is able to contribute effectively and participate equitably in duties as assigned. This position will appeal to you if you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to adapt to change, multi-task and function independently. It is essential that you have demonstrated skills in prioritizing and organization of workload, and are effective in all areas of communication, especially in writing, editing and proofreading.

The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education and a minimum of five years’ senior administrative experience.
