| Fulltime Instructor The Art Institute of Vancouver is looking for energetic, self-motivated, organized and proactive Lead Faculty members for the following programs: Fashion Marketing & Management, Web Design and Interactive Media, Game Art Design, 3D Animation, Video Game Programming, VFS, Digital Film and Video, Fashion Design Management, Event Management, Interior Design, Audio Arts. The successful candidate will possess in-depth theoretical knowledge and industry experience, and will be able to teach a variety of courses at the entry, mid and upper levels of the respective program. Key Job Elements: • Co-responsible for the academic leadership of the program, including the development of course curriculum and syllabi to facilitate exit outcomes for our students within the department. • Conduct market research analysis to ensure curriculum and instruction will address current and future industry needs. • Support the Academic Director in the recruitment and development of faculty. • Teach courses each term within the programs. • Advise and mentor students. • Consult with career services representatives regarding graduate program outcomes. • Adhere to attendance and grade reporting guidelines. • Demonstrate understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect or the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, disability, religious background and sexual orientation of community college students. • Provide student progress reports. • Participate in school committees, professional development programs, and special projects (including research projects) as requested by the Academic Director. • Participate in department meetings. Position Requirements: 1. Master’s degree (minimum) required, in related filed 2. Prior post-secondary teaching experience required. 3. Current industry experience preferred 4. Expert knowledge in relevant industry sector 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to act effectively as a member of a team. 7. Familiarity with relevant software applications an asset.
