WebsiteCM was founded by Jon Peters, an x-cart store owner who has used x-cart daily since 2002. Jon previously used x-cart to grow a successful online music store. As a store owner Jon found himself burdened by the administration of his x-cart store, and found himself spending more time maintaining the business than marketing it. As a web programmer, Jon built x-cart mods to automate store processes to the greatest extent possible, to improve his online store for his customers, ease his administrative burden and optimize his site for the search engines, giving him more time to grow his sales. In the process of creating solutions for himself, Jon began receiving requests from x-cart owners wanting to use the solutions built to fill voids in the stock x-cart.
